It wasnt cheap and especially if you factor in a few beers/drinks on top. The Peking duck was the best thing, while desserts were a huge disappointment. Id say go for it at this price - just dont expect the best quality.

We received an invite to attend a media launch at the shiny new Taste of Shanghai Burwood restaurant. It is a huge space attached to Westfield shopping centre; with a large open kitchen and modern fit out with decorative reference to Shanghai. This new venue is sophisticated and complete with a bar which is right in front of you at the entrance. There is also a private dining room, complete with two large round tables both with an extravagant marble lazy Susan. Choose your refreshment, be it white wine, red wine, beer, maybe a lychee and mango crush, ice cream milk tea or signature lemon tea.The ordering was left in the hands of our lovely host Amy.

We didn’t have any this time, as a whole dish would take up way too much stomach room, but I know from past experience that their stir fried vegetables and fried kwei teow are worth getting. Complaining specifically about service in a buffet setting is like complaining that KFC should serve more healthy foods while providing a better dinning atmosphere for eat ins with plates and solid cutlery. China bar's target market is probably just those who care about quantity and not service. Two and a half hours later, we rolled out of the door, filled to bursting. But watch out – if you visit on weekends and Friday night, you’ll only have one hour and a half hours to have all you can eat. And given the variety of food on offer, that’s probably nowhere near enough time.
