Kindergarten children can also take part in our library borrowing program, which encourages a love of reading to extend into their homes and their families. Our four-year-old children can even learn Spanish through Early Learning Languages Australia. This is a digital, play-based program that inspires children to learn a new language. The child is free to explore, discover and learn in an environment they feel they belong in. The decision will need to be made before a child starts a funded year of kindergarten. Henry Family and Children’s Centre is culturally diverse, and has strong ties to the community, established relationships with families, low staff turnover and friendly staff. Your child will need a backpack or bag, a refillable water bottle, a change of clothes, a wide-brim sun hat and their favourite toy, which can help them settle in. For kindergarten your child will need morning tea and lunch (dependent on the length of the program day).
Children thrive in our structured Bush Kinder program, designed to connect with nature and enhance social and emotional development in all environments. Outside, we have natural, open and multipurpose play spaces where children can play on climbing equipment, tackle obstacle courses and explore vegetable gardens. We also offer fun excursions to John Henry Primary School where children can take part in Wellness Wednesdays and Fit Fridays, which supports their physical and mental wellbeing. Kool Kidz Childcare and Early Learning respectfully acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land on which our centres are located.

Children learn about nature through our veggie garden, mud kitchen, worm farm, and greenhouse. We also educate them about environmental responsibility, discussing Clean Up Australia Day each January to highlight the importance of looking after the environment. I recently completed my placement at Little Stars Early Learning & Kindergarten, Pakenham, and it was really a wonderful and enjoyable experience. She guided me throughout my placement, generously sharing her knowledge and practical insights, which helped me learn and grow with confidence. All the educators (teams) were so friendly and kind, making the environment comfortable and positive from the very beginning. They are all so good with the children, patient, understanding, and dedicated to creating a nurturing and happy environment.
