Family of shows, having previously enjoyed  the first season. Code Black, was an entertaining watch with serviceable characterization and earned emotional stakes. The other was the second season of the original. Here Season 2 clocked in at eight episodes with animation that looked like a modern update of digipaint. A certain type of cell-shading was used that I'd argue nullified a lot of the artistic charm of the original.

Plus Zom 100 introduces Akira's best friend and a host club fighting for their lives! The newest Final Fantasy announcements are here from FanFest, plus a big change-up for Visual Arts and the latest on a spicy visual novel finally coming to America. COVID-19 is a legitimate problem—and this is particularly true right now because of the all-time high infection rates in China. If the accounts from those working at Chinese subcontracting studios are to be believed, the bottlenecks have been building up for months, as Japanese companies have been pushing more and more last-minute work on overburdened studios. At Academy Island, students battle in Games to win stars, hoping to earn the prestigious title “Seven Star.” Sarasa is last year’s champion and is on track to win again until Hiroto, a new transfer student, hits the scene.
'Joy' really is the feeling I keep coming back to with My Dress-Up Darling, and the show's ability to consistently communicate and instill it made it easily the best thing I watched this season. Yes, the world's most adorable implacable engine of destruction and breakout star of the Winter 2020 season is finally returning, bringing along all her friends and foibles. I can't stress what an unexpectedly delightful hit the original BOFURI turned out to be, taking the hoary old VRMMO setting and what could have been an utter snooze-fest of a power fantasy premise and transforming it into cutesy comedy gold. At times, BOFURI seems akin to a cozy, fulfilling iyashikei series. There is some narrative thrust, though it's generally less in the vein of "What's going to happen to our heroes?" and more like "How are Maple and pals going to absolutely break this hopelessly overburdened game next?". Though there are new wrinkles, like some additional characters, or Maple manifesting…tentacles now?
If Demon Slayer was not included in the Animation Industry Report, then the anime-related merchandise market would probably have seen a major contraction. The difficulties faced by domestic businesses can also be seen in the anime industry market if you calculate it separately from the retail market. When you consider only the revenue from anime production companies, the earnings in 2020 amounted to 274.4 billion yen, a significant contraction of 9% compared to the previous year.

James, Jacki, and Lynzee discuss Trigun's new look, PA Work's original anime Buddy Daddies, the Golden Globes, Airheads?! I have made a point to avoid catching up on the source material. However, I've heard good things about the story to come, with Thorfinn set to go through more nuanced and emotionally resonant trials as he scrapes and bleeds his way into adulthood. Plus, like seemingly every other big franchise anymore, this second season is being handled by MAPPA.

We update the news and reviews daily, and other content, such as features, columns, and editorials are also added throughout the week. Before the next season premieres in July, we're looking back on the previous season and sequel film for Made in Abyss. This anime is on Lynzee's "Masterpiece" list but it comes with a whole lot of caveats. We're discussing the major anime, game, and manga news that's come out of Anime Expo, how the con went overall, and what needs to change moving forward.

Negative human emotions - regret, bitterness, shame - are the source of all curses that infest the world and hide in everyday life, leading to death in the worst cases. Yuji Itadori, a particularly strong young man, attempts to save a friend from a curse, only to wind up consuming the special grade curse of Ryoumen Sukuna's finger.
The Kizuna no Allele anime looks to bring her to the forefront of the conversation again, but its approval-by-committee approach runs antithesis to the freedom that VTubing can bring creators. ― The idea of having Magical Boys aboard the Magical Girl franchise has only ever been considered a running gag or joke in the series. ― Whoever said one has to follow the path laid by others? Gundam's latest installment, The Witch From Mercury, is the perfect example, as the series redefines the legacy of the franchise while on the track to becoming one of the season's best sit...
