UK Therapy by ZOOM and Skype
Coming to counselling may be the most courageous decision you may make. It's important to ask about your therapist's qualifications, professional memberships and insurance (read more…). All good therapists will be happy to discuss these matters with you during your first meeting. Therapy is often called a problem-solving workshop, but may people don’t know what to expect from a session. Once you get a better understanding of what it entails, the benefits will become obvious.
Online counselling is not suitable if you are experiencing an enduring mental health illness or are experiencing acute distress. If you feel you are in crisis or are in danger of harming yourself then is it imperative that you contact the emergency services for help or go to your nearest A&E department. Please see the Zoom Counselling Emergency Contacts resource list for crisis support. However, there are particular circumstances in which as therapists we can break confidentiality, and this comes under the code of ethical guidelines for counsellors. A need for breaking confidentiality focuses on keeping you as the client and others safe from harm.
As with all mental health services and treatment, the efficacy of digital therapy is completely case dependant. It’s hard to determine whether it is as effective as face-to-face therapy, although it’s clear that the majority of people do believe in-room sessions have a certain closeness that a screen simply can’t replicate. But the fact is, we live in a technologically advanced world in which people are always looking to digital services to make their lives that little bit easier. The counselling sessions are facilitated online using the video-calling platform Zoom, so providing you have internet access and a device to be able to engage in a video call, you can get our support from any location. We will email you the Zoom link in advance of your session so that you can easily connect with us at your booked time. Improving the effectiveness of my Zoom psychotherapy service is important to me.
Anyonein Suffolk who is 18 or over can easily access our counselling service for one-on-one support from our counsellors. Counselling provides you with the opportunity to talk about issues and any challenging emotions you have in a private, secure setting. Mental health is important and having the help and support of an experienced Therapist can make all the difference in feeling better or achieving goals. The same as face to face counselling, all our therapists are BACP, NCS or UKCP registered.
Each session follows the exact same format and we do not cap the number of sessions. We understand that not all issues can be worked out in a short amount of time. If you are unable to attend the Centre, we can offer low-cost counselling sessions by zoom and telephone. Parkland Place Online Therapy is appropriate for people over the age of 18.
"I don't want to sleep until four in the afternoon. I want to get up and go do my shit and go to work," he says. At the time of your appointment, just click the link and you’ll be connected to me on a video call. All you need to access Zoom counselling is a computer, laptop or a device with a webcam.
To find out more about our services and how we can support you, contact us via phone, email or by visiting our Advice Centre. I volunteer for No Limits as a Counsellor and for Cruse bereavement care the latter in the roles as a bereavement supervisor and bereavement counsellor. As well as working with young people at No Limits, I specialise in supporting the bereaved at any stages in and during their bereavement whether past or present.
All of this can be provided at our centres in Devon and Birmingham, meaning wherever you are in the country, you can find a counselling course near you! If you can’t make it to our centre and classroom-based learning, we provide online counselling training you can access from the comfort of your own home on some of our training courses and onto any of our CPD events. Individual counselling sessions are weekly and each session lasts 50 minutes. Your counsellor will not give you advice or tell you what to do. They will work with you to develop a greater understanding of yourself and your life enabling you to make the changes that are possible.
Try to place your camera at eye level so that you're looking at your device on the horizontal. This ensures that you're not looking down or up at your counsellor . A Zoom meeting room will have been created prior to the sessions commencing.
